Work's been bad this week. Neil the other developer I work with has been off for a week. He's in Dublin drinking Guinness. We're about a week behind going live with the next release of our software. Mostly because the day before it was due to go live the cutsomer looked at it, and decided it wasn't waht they wanted. This wasn't even the first time they've seem it!.
So we're getting hassle for not delivering on time. The bits that need changing are motsly Neil's. I'm expected to sort it all instantly, and as soon as I think I've done it they decide they need something else. So much for the 'minium required to get it out of the door'. I don't mind the long hours(even if they are unpaid) but I'm not a Time Lord I need to know what they want doing at least the day before they need to finished. Anyway it's been an interesting week.
We seem to be talking about Neil as if he's not comming back. As far as I know he's back on Monday, unless he's takig Newstart. Wouldn't blame him, but would make my job diffucult.
In other news I'm trying to decide if I should ask Jenni for a beer boiler for my Birthday, I have a go at making my own. I've seen a few threads on various forums about making them but not sure. Basicly it involes taking two kettles apart and fitting the elements to a big bucket. Either way with one of these I'd to able to make my own beer from proper recipies rather than buying kits. |

Things haven't been going too well at work recently. Just a lot of stress and reasons to be demotaivated. They've offered Newstart aging. That's BT speak for voluntery redundancy. I got a quote, but I'm not seriously going to take it. Although I'd like to, there's too much risk with the job market at the moment.
The goood news is that although there's no pay rises or bonuses this year, I have got a discretion payment. It's basicaly a bonus but not everyone has one. It's slightly less than last years bonus but not by much. This will take some of the money related stress away. Not a huge amount, but it's enough to make sure we're not overdrawn next month and start saving again.
Unfortantly a good chunck of any savings will proabbly go on the flights at Christmas. Flying to Florida will cost around £1500 for the 3 of us. |

Haven't posted for a bit. Jenni's out on a course and Jean's asleep. Thought I'd do this as it's quiete. Jenni was out on a training course last night as well. Jean settled down well both nights. I've actually gotten a lot done with the time to myself. Fixed the tiles on the bathroom mirror, made some cakes as well as the normal tidying up after Jean.
I've got tommorrow off so more Jean-Daddy time, always good. Jenni has a staff meeting after work, and a Doctors appiontment in the afternoon. Jean and I are going car seat and stroller shopping in the morning and food shopping at Lidl in the afternoon.

I was meant to be on Christmas leave tommorow, but I canceled the first 3 days. Hopefully I'll finish early on Christmas Eve. We've got a delivery due on the 24th, hopefully we get most of it finished tommorow so we don't have much to do on Wednesday. |

Jenni isn't feeling well, so I gave Jean her bath and am giving her her bed time feed now. I made her up a bottle of goodnight milk drink, which we normaly give her when she won't sleep. I'll defrost some milk incase she wakes up. Once she settles down. I'll start my next batch of homebrew. |

Currently eatiing lunch at a service station near knutsford, Chesire. Should be about halfway to keswick. Jenni and Jean are watching cbeebies in the children's area. Jean had a jar of baby food for lunch followed by orange jelly which we got for her here as a treat. Should probbably get on the road soon. |

I've just about finished laying a laminate floor in my dinning room. Just need to repaint the skirting boards now.
Also I think I'm going to fit a new draft excluder strip to my front door(which opens into that room). There is a strip on the door at the moment but half of it is missing.
This floor's taken a while, mostly it's bean fitting the edging that was time consuming. That and trying to do anything with Jean around. |
Yesterday we got an email from Jenni's mom, saying she'd deleted her facebook account. She said this was because she was too old for facebook and didn't understand it.
She thinks she needs a facebook account to see public albums on there. She asked if we could just email her photos.
I don't really like emailing a lot of high res photos. Mostly because it takes ages, clogs inboxes etc.
Instead I've started using Flicker again. From now on new photos are going there. Carol seems ok with this. Hopefully the other people who can't deal with public fb albums will be able to cope now.
I've set up Flickr to alert my fb when I post new photos. There is also a post to LJ feature which I might use once in a while.
While I was setting up fb and Flicr. I noticed I could get fb working with LJ. I tried this out but it copied all my public LJ postes as notes. I was hoping it would just be a thing saying I'd posted, like with FLicker. Therefore I got rid of this, and deleted the notes.
I've also gotten rid of the LJ client for my phone that posted photos. Replaced this with ShoZu. Which does the same but lets me post to Flicr. |

Putting all photos on flickr now. A few people have been struggling to see the photos on facebook. I've made the albums public but people are saying they need a facebook account?
This has the benifit of being able to post here from flickr. |
